Painting a Marsh Landscape in Acrylic Paint

Here’s how to paint a landscape in acrylics, step by step.

Hi friends! Happy Monday! Usually I write these blog posts on the weekends but I was crazy busy this weekend so alas, I am writing it today. I did make another fun time-lapse video over the weekend to share with you. I enjoy creating art videos and I plan on doing more. There is just so much to learn about making them.

The video shows me painting a marsh scene in my sketchbook with acrylic paints. I took the photo I used for the reference this summer when we were visiting a neighboring town and it was just so gorgeous! I would love to actually bring my paints and an easel there this summer and paint “en plein air” sometime. It just sounds so dreamy doesn’t it?!

This painting is a great example of how many layers go into acrylic paintings. I constantly feel like I am layering and painting over areas.

Let me know in the comments if there is something specific you would like me to create an art video on. I would love to know your thoughts!

Working in my sketchbook is so relaxing and a great place to play around with new ideas.
