I love creating sunny artworks that can be hung in a modern cottage or lovely little home. My artworks reflect my love of color, line and anything coastal . I adore and am influenced by patterns, color, nature, texture, and living a carefree life. I am influenced by my time spent on the Lake Erie islands during the summer months.

We have been busy traveling back and forth to the Island, swimming, hanging out with friends and basically just soaking up every minute we can of summer. I am also excited to release some brand new original paintings for Dress the Room's Summer Show July 8th. These paintings are inspired by my love of sailing, hydrangeas and of course blue and white decor.
Sharing a couple with you for a sneak peek below:
This is “Hydrangeas Harbor” and is 30 x 40 inches and would look great in any coastal space.
“Island Cottage with Hydrangeas” size 18 x 24 inches. This painting is inspired by the beautiful island cottages I see around the island around the lake and the gorgeous hydrangeas which seem to grow pretty well on the island.
“Through the Grove 1” size 20 x 20 inches. On the Island there is a special area of trees called the “Grove” which looks out on to the lake. I sometimes see sailboats racing through the trees and it really has inspired many of my paintings.
I am also releasing four mini 6 x 6 inch gallery wrap blue and white sailboats and hydrangeas paintings. These work perfect displayed on a cute shelf or together to create a coastal gallery wall.
I can’t wait to share these brand new paintings with you on July 8th on Dress the Room
Happy June everyone! I hope everyone has been having a great late spring. Summer will be officially here this week and I am so excited! I have been out of school since the end of May so it has technically felt like summer for me.
What has been inspiring me lately has been all of the gorgeous peonies blooming here in Ohio. They truly are one of my favorite flowers and I only wish they lasted longer.
I have been trying to paint a daily painting each day in my sketchbook. I have found that most of my daily paintings have evolved around the photos I have taken of gorgeous peony gardens at my parents’ house, around the island and around my hometown. My style is very impressionistic and loose and I wanted to show the energy and essence of the peonies. I also only work on these daily sketches for 20 or so minutes. Here are a couple of them from these past couple of weeks. Each sketch is 7 x 10 inches painted in acrylic on mixed media paper.
If you would like to learn more about daily paintings check my post I wrote awhile back about why I create daily paintings and the importance of them.
Have a wonderful week!
xo.
